CANDHY will hold its final meeting on June 9 and 10 in Brussels (Belgium)

CANDHy will hold its final meeting on June 9 and 10 in Brussels (Belgium). The CANDHy consortium will review the work carried out throughout the project and align on the final steps, as the project approaches its conclusion in August 2026.

In addition, CANDHy will organise a cluster workshop together with the European project SHIMMER. This initiative aims to assess the impact of introducing hydrogen and hydrogen mixtures on the infrastructure and integrity of the materials that make up existing gas distribution networks. This event will allow both projects to share their progress towards greater application of hydrogen in the current gas grid network.

CANDHy evaluates the integrity and hydrogen tolerance of non-steel metallic materials used in existing gas distribution networks when transporting rich mixtures, including up to 100% hydrogen. The project aims to provide reliable scientific data and harmonised guidelines to support the safe deployment of hydrogen infrastructure and Europe’s transition to climate neutrality.
